I'd shoot it and not worry about it anymore.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I got pics somewhere saved of whatever the canine was on a lease near Addison SE side of Bankhead. It was using a trail at night and I got a couple decent night pics and showed my buddys. Way bigger than a Yote but not as big as a real wolf. I would compare it to a full grown German Sheppard. I figured maybe a yote-dog hybrid. Finally got a daytime pic and it was red. Kinda freaked me out

I had a wolf hybrid when I was a teen I'm 40 now, they was a guy in north alabama that bred em it was like 90% wolf, big ol dog could put his paws on my shoulders I had 3 that ran a female cur dog off a tree one day back in the late 90's. They were huge and looked just like a red wolf but were about 3/4 the size of a red wolf. This was in Cullman County and hardly anyone believed us, but I know what I saw.

Soak some sponges in bacon grease and spread them around the perimeter of your yard and keep your dog up for awhile. Problem solved
We will burn that bridge when we get there

There was one roaming around the house where I was a kid in Tuscaloosa county. It would come up to me acting all friendly. I started petting him on the head. Then every time I stopped rubbing his head it would start growling. I stood there with this wolf for what seemed like an hour before it finally let me go. I was scared shitless. Not sure if it was a hybrid or a full blooded wolf. But it was huge. I lean more towards it being all wolf. Hell yeah! You befriended a wolf when you were a kid.
