That was a defensive battle......Thompson barely crossed the 50 yard line before overtime.......The defense scored their only TD in regulation

I’m all for the players at Thompson but the coach is a first class entitled hole. I saw in person him show his a// to a Jacks restaurant employee who was actually trying to help him get a huge order for the football team. I had no idea who he was but watched while he argued about the price when they were donating the majority. It was so bad I actually told him as he left that he was being unreasonable. He just looked at me and never responded. I asked the people who work there who he was and they told me and said he does it all the time. Just another over paid bully hs coach that thinks they are on the same level with top tier college coaches. I hope he loses every game. Oh and they recruit like crazy too because the kid that had a good game last night was a Spain park kid. The one that committed to auburn. So a kid transfers to Thompson to play football and that automatically means they recruit?

That boy transferred before his teams season was over. Yeah they recruit and so do the majority of other top tier hs teams including the city of Birmingham teams. My reply to this post was not concerning whether they recruit or not, but what a tool the head coach is Yes he transferred mid season, his parents moved to Alabaster and he chose to transfer. What you don't know is that the kid chose not to play in the playoffs last year. Freeman doesn't recruit, the players/parents move to Alabaster because he is a good coach. I doubt it was him picking up food from Jack's for the team, there are more than enough assistants to run those errands.

Most of the quality programs in the state don't recruit because they don't have to. Kids come to them without recruiting. People get on my nerves so bad with this recruiting stuff.

I don’t have a problem with schools recruiting the way I see it if ur good and wanna play with the best and can then so be it. Kinda like I believe in school choice. I wanna go where the best teachers are and the others can turn into a Winn Dixie and fold which should teach people a lesson about letting government run public schools. I would wanna have a shot at playing for a good coach vs being stuck at an average school because a county says I can’t or ain’t zoned for it. I believe eventually it will be a choice if we can get the thieves out of it. By the way private schools been doing it for years and if ur good then I see no problem with going somewhere by whatever means to have a chance at moving along further and possibly getting in front of people to get a scholarship to play next level. To me the harder u work and truly have talent u should be rewarded for it and not held in a situation where ur stuck with the ones that don’t work hard to be the best. Well said. I agree with about 95% of it.
