About dang time. I just put another gm product in the shop for a tranny rebuild. They suck. Unfortunately their doesn't appear to be a super reliable truck anymore.

My buddy parked his Silverado in the driveway the other day since he can’t afford to fix it. Quoted $4500 for the torque converter and transmission.

I’ve never had one fail at less than 180k. And I’ve owned over 40 in ten years. I ain’t suing nobody over that.

People these days think they should just use anything forever it seems. A transmission every 180k just ain’t a problem to me I guess

And that’s lawsuit material, really?

I’ve put a transmission in everyone I’ve owned, like I said over 40 in 10 years, at around 180k and I think they’ve all been awesome trucks

I don’t think we’ve had a single Chevy make it to 100k. And that’s just transmission issues - you can add a laundry list of repairs on top of that.

You must be living right with that run of luck.

That's typically what my auto repair shop customers have told me the last 10 years. Several bad transmissions under 100k miles and a bucket list of electrical issues.

Yeaasss!! I’m out 5K when mine went out at 105K. 2016 Sierra. All the stuff I was reading about them going out at 100k and when I got over that number, I was relieved. Then, on Vaughn road, right in front the Blount mansion, it sounded like all hell was breaking loose. Truck would barely move. I limped into Tony’s transmission and got a rebuilt one to replace it.

I guess all the ones we’ve had have been the good ones. They carry over a ton of just tools and 179k is the lowest mileage we’ve had to replace one

My 2001 2500hd durmax dropped 1st transmission at 122,000 in the shop now for transmission related issues, cranked up the truck and truck went into limp mode, instantly, around 220,000

How can they just quit ? What is continually found when the dead-bies are torn apart ? Can you hold it in your hand ? Can you show me the parts that were replaced ?
Heat issues ? Gotta be some specifics this far down the metaphorical road.

85k. I think it should last longer than that myself. Trucks cost way to much now to only go that far.

Never had a transmission problem until a 21 Chevy 2500 was bought. It makes a horrible noise at times. Started around 120k miles.

It be's that way sometimes.

You are lucky. I have had several go bad way to early. Of course I tow a lot of trailers and boats too. I keep them serviced regularly too. Mine started acting up around 70k but was told there was nothing to do but get it replaced. I drove it as long as I could this time until it got so bad it couldn't be driven.
