Currently using just the Moultrie Standard spin feeders. I have had problems with deer just eating right off the spin plate whenever they want to. I have tried the motors with the cage and they still find a way to do it. We have also had problems with hogs knocking them over. I know they sell extra leg sections to elevate them but it is a little pricey. Any cost effective ideas for raising the height of the feeders?

Either EMT conduit or galvanized pipe. T-posts driven beside the legs with U-bolts around both keeps them from being turned over.

I have to do the T-post trick with my stand & fills or the bears turn them over.

Feeders about this high. Want to be able to fill from standing on the ground.

can buy a set of extensions on the Moultrie site for cheap if you don’t want to make them

Just large enough for the Moultrie leg to slip into. Drill through about 8" down from the top end, run a 1/4" bolt through with a nylock nut to keep it from sliding too far down, or drill through both the leg and the EMT and through bolt both. T-post beside the EMT with the U-bolt will keep the hogs from turning it over.

You can also add a long piece of PVC over both, and it will roll when the hogs rub on it. They will leave it alone because they can't get friction to scratch..

1” works on all of the Moultrie style feeders

Thanks for all the info guys. Will try some of these methods out. Anyone have a moultrie discount code? Lol. Looking to get a good amount of feeders.

If you have hogs you better get them as high off the ground as possible. Keep them full of corn because if they get low (and lightweight) the hogs will push them over and destroy them like a pinata trying to get the corn out. They will also eventually figure out that they can put their head on the motor and break the QD mount and the corn will pour out.

Put the feeders high and drive T posts into the ground and wire the legs to them. As far as the coons...... just kill them. There are methods to wipe them out quickly.

I just used the gravity feed horns instead of the spin cast portion and also used leg extensions to keep the hogs from reaching the ends of the feed horns themselves. They will still come through ever so often and eat what might be let on the ground but don't stay but for a minute or two and then move own. I had more pictures of deer than hogs last year. Works good for me.

Started building my own with 12v spinners... installed Eliminator plates on them. Animals can't get to the corn any longer.
