With small game hunting opening up soon, I'm in desperate need of a few different squirrel and a few different rabbit recipes and ideas. The more simple, the mo' betta!

Google a recipe for white beans and rice and use rabbit and smoked sausage in it. Zatarians makes a good white seasoning mix you can use as a base too.

Pre-boil the rabbit is the most important thing. Then I take the meat and throw it in a crockpot with whatever you like for stew. I use Pintos and white beans with taters and onions, might even throw in mushrooms or baby carrots. Season however you like. Simple and good. Todd is right, put that on a bed of rice and you got a meal.

I like squirrel fried, and wabbit in a crockpot with rice and some spices. Throw in some spicy Conecuh Sasusage at times too.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I shoot a crazy number of squirrels. I’m pretty sure you can’t eliminate them. I could use a good recipe. I tiried grilled and that is not the way.

Do like I do,,, just use your Imagination and a crockpot .

If you boil them don't over boil them before frying . They'll get tough and dry that way too.

Main thing ,,,, don't over cook .lol

Skwerls... I put them in crockpot for 4 or 5 hours. Pull meat off the bone then put in a pot pie, or add it to a sausage gumbo. Pretty darn good

You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

I'm with Frankie - dumplings or gravy. Covers both major food groups.

Pressure cooker for skwerls, with some poultry seasoning (I make my own) about 15 minutes after the jiggler shales on the cooker, Let it cool, strain the liquid, pull the meat from the bones, add meeat and broth back to the pot and bring to a full rolling boil. Add some salt and pepper. Roll biscuit dough about 1/4" thick, cut into strips, then crosscut until about 1" square/diagonal, and drop into the boiling liquid a few at a time, scattered. Simmer for about 20 minutes, then serve in a bowl. Add whatever veggies you want. I have done whole kernel corn, diced tomatoes, sweet peppers, hot peppers, taters, and a host of other veggies to it while it was cooking.

If skwerls grew to 20 lbs, I would never kill another deer. Y'all could call me the skwerl king!
