I had some brassicas in the ground ahead of this rain. Looks like we may get about 1.5" if the models are right. Problem is we don't have hardly any soil moisture as it is and I don't see rain again for the next 7-10 days. smh
last thing I want is to head into Oct on the dry side

I got a few small spots planted . Its so dry here, the seed will be fine there until it rains. That way I don't miss planting at the next rain.

That rain that sprouts your seed could be your worst enemy if it dont rain again for a month. I reck9n we do what we can when we can though

When you see a 90 year old black man buy a quarter cup of turnip seed then walks around the fertilizer pallets with a dust pan scooping up from when bags had ripped, it time to plant collards and turnips. Saw Mr. Pete doing it at the feed store last week and said it was time. Its about to get wet around here.

JohnG, weve been at Ft Morgan for a day now and its rained the whole time, pretty much. Im kinda jealous. We were supposed to get some good rain at the house today. My uncle said it drizzled a little bit. Its getting dry as crap up there. Joseph did manage to catch some bait and a 6ft blacktip. Hes headed back out now

I'm a glutton, I top seeded about a 1/4 acre of brassicas the other day after posting. I couldn't stand it. If it comes up and we get another rain later this week I'll look like a farmer, if it sprouts and dies, i'm an idiot and i'm out less than 20.00 lol

My son planted a brassica and icpeas plot for bow season last year. It rained on it once, which got it up. Then no rain for quite a while. He sprayed it with liquid foliage fertilizer once a week and it grew like crazy.
