What are seed and fert prices like this year? Down somewhat. I bought 4 tons of bagged fertilizer a few weeks ago at $520 a ton. $13 a bag. $16.50 a bag at co op.

I just ordered seed and fertilizer for our club. Our cost went down by $1200 from last year.
$16.75 / 50 lbs for 4 way $14.75 / 50 lbs for 13-13-13
Got the fertilizer tax free.

How did you get the free tax on fertilizer If you have a farm account, they don't charge tax on seed and fertilizer. Saves us $$$ every year

Does a club leasing land qualify for a farm account? Farm account technically means nothing, it’s what you do with the seed and fertilizer that impact sales tax. Legally, seed and fertilizer used for deer food plots is taxable. It’s specifically set out in the State’s sales tax guide, with citation to regulations and an administrative law decision involving deer food plots. There’s a take home lesson in the above, which is keep your mouth shut when buying seed and fertilizer if you’re using them for deer.

I’ve seen some stores get in trouble and fined for not charging sales tax.
