280 Remington. For the people who load it what's your preferred powder/brass. Planning loading Barnes 120 TTSX

With that light bullet I would probably start with H4350.
Nosler brass is good stuff but pricey.

not 280, but for the AI version I've had great luck with the Barnes 145 LRX and H4831SC. also had good results with same bullet and both IMR and H 4350. lots of the standard 280's has a slower twist though, so the 145 may be too much for it if that's the case

One of my daughters loves this 280 so was looking for a good bullet that won't mule kick her

Why not just look at the Barnes load data and pick the load that you want?

Many of my rifles have far different velocities with the same bullet/powder combo compared to the loading guides. I've seen differences of 300 fps with some.

That hasn’t been my experience at all.

It would be cooler if the rifle was chambered in 7mm Express, instead of the 280. 😎

The 4350s Rl19 even the 4831s. Only luck I've ever had with H414 has been poor. And thst was 1979s 7mm Express Remington.

I've always had good luck with 4350, both IMR and H. As AU338MAG said in your other thread, I've been able to run a 280 a good bit hotter than book max before I see pressure signs.

I’ve always used IMR 4150 or RL19. Remington brass because that’s what I had. I mostly load154 Hornadys. I’ve never used a Barnes but it might be interesting to try.

My 280 AI would not shoot IMR 4831 at all so I bought it at a great price from the owner and the first time I fed it H4831 is shot bug holes at good speeds. I noticed that your daughter will be shooting this rifle and the 120 gr will be perfect for her at about 7-08 speeds.
