What's the best monopod shooting stick for stalk and ground hunting?

And...... go

You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

I’ve had a Stoney Point monopod/walking stick for 10+ yrs. I just looked online and they’ve discontinued the one I have and who knows if the quality today is the same.

Best shooting stick I’ve ever owned have been 2 sourwood sticks screwed together about 4” from the top
They’re about 4’long and 3/4” diameter

I’ve used a bunch of stuff, but I’ve use a trigger stick tall tripod 2-4 nights a week for coyote walks and on countless other hunts for 5-6 years. There is lighter stuff, but they’re light enough for a walking stick. There’s sturdier stuff, but they’re plenty sturdy for hunting and hunting weight rifles. There’s cheaper stuff that’s not as good and more expensive stuff that’s not ‘better’. Nothing is as easy to use or as fast or as versatile.
I’ll concede there’s much better walking sticks, much better shooting, lock down tripods, etc. none of them do all the things a TS tripod will do. I had monopod and bipod/stick versions. The tripod is better, to me. Have a couple. Gonna get a short one for turkeys.

Big fan of the trigger sticks. I have both the bipod and tripod.

Also have a Bog Death grip. It stays at home b

Tall trigger stick is my choice. Had mono, bipods, and a short trigger stick. The tall version is the most versatile and adapts quickly to a wide range of situations.

Modux is spot on here. I have used about everything while Hog Hunting at night with Thermals. Trigger stick is the best all-around.

One key with the bipod models is to get them longer than you need so that you can put a little weight or pressure on your sticks to help get steady... this is sort of like loading your bipod when shooting prone. Not a solution but just helps.

I tried the Primos trigger version Mono pod for spot and stalk out west. Figured out real quick that wouldnt work for accuracy with a rifle. I ended up with a really light weight tripod. Cheaper version I had never heard of but it works great. It does not have a trigger for quick adjustment but I always set the telescoping legs to my height and leave it. In a hunting situation on unlevel ground there is enough movement with the leg placements to go up or down as needed. I really like it if I am seated on a elevated position glassing. I can usually drop it down fairly quickly and get sit down.
This may be it:

I've made several over the years with bamboo from the roadside. I run a cotter pin through them. Made them for standing and sitting. Also use singles for wiener roast sticks by putting two stainless steel rods through one end. Plenty long enough to not get the kids burned by the fire. I usually make them from still green bamboo and after they have dried turn them into shooting sticks.

Prob not what u looking for - but the death grip tripod is awesome for sighting in a gun - lot of folks hunt with it to. I got one cause my stepson could not hit the broad side of a barn when he was little - it helped

It's a single stick. How can one be better than another unless the head isn't stable?? Buy the mid priced option.

I took a chance and went with the mid $30s Primos Pole Cat. We'll see how it holds up.

This isn’t any help to you - but the best walking and sort-of shooting stick I had was a piece of dogwood I took the bark off of and dried. I had cut it where the upper fork was a good height for propping a rifle while standing, and one of the middle forks worked well for propping while kneeling. I had wrapped leather where you gripped for a walking stick. I propped it up against a tree in a WMA while hunting, and walked off and left it. I went back to find it and couldn’t (because it was a freaking stick in the woods). I was so pissed I never bothered to make another one but I should
