Reading this Grass Shrimp " how to " where the author dips about 5-6 out of the bucket at a time, and flips them into a small container with corn meal in it.
You go through them pretty fast, and this makes them easier to handle. Any pros on here ? Did you make your own net ?

I use grass shrimp all the time for bream fishing below the Gainesville, Florida area. I prepare a small ice chest with a layer of ice on the bottom and newspaper on top the ice. I just dump all the grass shrimp onto the newspaper and grab one as I need it. The grass shrimp will stay alive all day.

Oh! Don’t forget to put the ice in a gallon ziplock bag. You don’t want the shrimp to get wet.

Peach, are grass shrimp common in most lakes? I don't guess I've ever seen one in Alabama. We used them in central and south Florida.

They are not real prevalent in NW Florida. All the lakes around Gainesville are loaded with them. If you don’t use shrimp around there, you will catch very few fish.

At times they are thicker than mosquitoes in the upper delta. We make a 12x18” frame out of 2x2” cedar, put a 2x2x48” handle on it then staple 1/8” hardware cloth to the bottom.

IF I'm bream fishing I always just grab me a hand full of grass from a bed of grass out of the water and shake the seed shrimp out over the bait bucket with water in it... Coon tail moss seems to be best... them little shrimp are in all those grass beds on the lower delta where most of the grass is located some in the middle delta too...
