What do we know about the AK shotgun varieties in 20 guage for close home defense?
Brands, makes, costs, etc???
I'm thinking, low recoil, high capacity, light weight, short overall, shotgun for home defense an average to smaller size female could handle and still kill or scare bad guys and bad things with.
A load of 20 guage buckshot or slug will handle most anything under 25 feet.

All the AR and AK variety of shotguns from what Ive seen and read are not reliable
A Beretta A300 12Ga is the most reliable and with reduced recoil or the 1.75” shorty rounds are perfect for home defense
Cost isn’t bad at all considering what it will be used for

I have a youth mossberg pump on standby for home defense. I keep it loaded it with 3 inch magnum number 4 turkey shot with a buckshot follow up. If I start shooting it's going to get messy in a hurry.

I would recommend a reliable gas semi auto like beretta, Winchester, or browning with a mag tube extension

Just get a pump. That sound is priceless Skinny plus they won’t know if you’re shooting buckshot or slugs or combination of both. Trust me Guvner as I used to train troopers in FL. Even for hunting I love a semi but they require more maintenance. Going to have to take one of mine into Gundoc for repairs. Last thing you want in self defense is to pull the trigger and hear click. Get a pump. . rofl

There’s no reason that a 20ga turkey gun can’t be used for home defense
Just remember to swap out the buckshot for TSS in the spring.

One downside to 20ga for Self defense is 20ga buck is not as readily available compared to 12ga.

If a home intruder gets shot with a 12 or a 20 gauge I don’t think it’ll matter and the outcome will be the same

Not a 20ga but I’ve got a Citadel 12ga setup for home defense. I like the flexibility of a mag fed platform so you can choose which ammo without having to unload every round in the gun. Add a 30rd drum to the mix and you’ve got self defense and bad guy suppression for days. Side note…please don’t use buckshot or slugs inside the home for self defense. Over penetration is a real risk. #6, 7, or 8 birdshot will absolutely shred a man at self defense ranges.

That’s sweet. And my colors too. Do they offer it in a 20 gauge?

Just 12ga as far as I know. If they ever make a 20ga I’ll be picking one up.

No reason to use buckshot for home defense. High brass bird shot inside 10 yards is plenty deadly with a lot less recoil.

I went this route (woman with minimal training) with a Moss 500 with youth stock and an SA 20. I can unequivocally tell you the smaller frame has more perceived recoil than a 12 ga using buckshot loads.

The said intended woman decided on a Ruger 5.7 LC Carbine

I took this woman to one of my ranges and made her see how many rounds she could get on target at 15 yards and less in the fastest time. The absolute fastest time and number of hits was a Ruger 10/22 compact 16” barrel in a Magpul stock with a red dot shooting CCI Velocitors.

I’ve had other chicks that faired great with a 20 ga coach gun or a Glock Pistol. I hate Glock but they are best for some folk.

I do these test with no hearing protection also.

😂🤣😂🤣I wouldn’t bet my life on an AK anything, I’m alive because of their failures 😂🤣😂🤣

I wouldn't pass on a 16ga if I ran across one in a Rem 1100 either. I got one its light dont kick handles fast.
