Heading to gulf shores this weekend to do a little fishing I plan on hitting the pier for some Spanish and whatever else is biting, I know they catch a few mangroves off the pier just wondering if anyone else knows any good spots from shore for them

This time of year they hang around almost any docks and other structures that might be reachable from shore. Jetties can be good as well. Often you can actually spot them and then free line a live shrimp to them.

We use to catch them like crazy at Alabama Point (perdido pass)...east side off the beach under the bridge and west side asking the seawall and down the jetty

Just a quick FYI. If you don't have your reef fish permit, make sure you get it if you plan on keeping them.
They love shrimp

Perdido Pass under the bridge and along the wall.

Go with as little weight as you can get away with. (No weight if possible). I use a Carolina rig or just use a split shot or two above the hook.
