Kmart, once one of America's leading discount retailers is closing its last full size store in the United States.... Sad sad day.... Can Ya'll believe that there are tons of folks that have never ever even been in one.... The best thing about Kmart was the ICEE's .... Man them Icee's were fine fine on a hot summer day.... walking around the tennis shoe section looking for some new kicks.... Yeah, I seen where the last one is closing on Oct. 20th and thought ya'll should know...."ATTN... Kmart shoppers" .... RIP KMART....

I remember being a kid in the BB gun section when the blue light came on!
It was like a dinner bell for rednecks. K-mart would move a pallet of .22 and 12 gauge OO in 20 minutes.
When the blue light came on, my father would make his purchase then go to front of the store and spend some pocket change on the pay phone. He called everybody he knew to tell them that the blue light was on for ammo.

Yep, If they did the blue light now, in some neighborhoods most people in there would run out the door trying to get away.

When I was about 7 or 8 I got my butt tore up for chasing my sister around the store with a rubber snake. Still have a .22 rifle from there, may have some of the ammo also.

Man at the the memories.... I bought my first baitcaster reel at Kmart....Rode up there on my motorcycle in Anniston when I was 14.....

My mom worked in a Kmart for 30+ years. It was my first job too.

I ain't been in a Kmart since they pulled deer hunting scents off the shelves.. they neen peta woke a long time

Back in the 1970s and 80s Kmart was the place. The last decade or so that Albertville had one it was truly rare to find me there. They just didn't have as good of a selection or prices as Wally world. Now I really dislike that place too. Rural king is my new go to.

Good times! Get an Icee at the Kmart for cruisin the toy isles while Mom shopped and then across the street to Frostop for a cheeseburger and root beer float.

Amazon and online shopping in general have killed brick and mortar stores. Just progress I suppose. HD has all the good stuff behind bars and good luck finding someone with a key.

I have a few children’s books that were bought and read to me 40 + years ago and now I read them to my 4 year old.

Somewhere in this house, there is a picture of just me with a deer background picture at K-mart. I was about 7 or 8. If I care to actually look for it, I will post it.
I think my Dad had it taken so he could give it to Mom to show that he was paying attention to me.

I’ve been waiting on those bastages to go bankrupt ever since we were banned for life from the one in Opelika for having a nerf gun war on bicycles inside the store. Life was good and LSD was abundant in Auburn circa ‘97.

Who remembers Gaylords? I bet they could fire that chain store up overnight these days. Fast Democrat cash for that business.

Daddy bought me a Rem 742 auto for my birthday when I turned 15....He got it on sale at Kmart for 220 bucks.... I love that ol rifle.... Aint never killed nothing with it and wouldnt take nothing for it....
