We bailed on the river this weekend. I had a 5K Saturday AM and then subjected myself to Auburn football for some reason. Sunday I was feeling a little worse for wear so we decided to hit a Riverkeeper benefit. It was at Cahaba Brewing. They had a lot of the people that help the river there plus some competition teams frying catfish to see who was the best. Got to meet a lot of cool people, eat some great catfish, and drink some good beer.

They had a side room for all the exhibitors. We met the Cahaba Blueway people who are the ones that secure and develop all the public access points along the river: https://www.cahabablueway.org/. Really cool guy and we hope to help get their project in Vestavia going. Neat to hear some of the other things they have going as well. I wish all the local waterways had an organization like this encouraging people to get outside on our small rivers and streams.

Momma liked the Tortorigi offering of catfish on top of grits. I was a big fan of the B&G catfish which was simply fried fish without any frills. Not sure who took home the bragging rights.

Beer was cold and delicious.

Fishing dog was happy to clean up any dropped samples from the fish fry. Feel comfortable she gained a couple of pounds from the event.
