Well. i planted a small plot ahead of the forecast of 2-4” of rain from storm. Ended up getting almost 0.5”. Seed sprouted and came up. Now now rain in sight. How long can they make it on morning dew alone??

The cooler temperatures are going to help and there should be big dews ever day next week.

This. You will be fine unless a big warmup occurs with no rain for over a month.

Again, depends on the soil. I believe you need a rain in a lot less than a month unless very heavy dews, and even then it depends on the soil

You'll most likely be okay. Cooler temps will help and if all you got was 1/2" or less, you've probably still got quite a bit of seed that is buried and still has not germinated. Most likely what you're seeing is the shallower stuff that germinated and popped with that first light rain.

With the temps coming you’ll likely be ok unless it’s hard packed heavy clay soil.

The predicted rain yesterday never got north of Montgomery. Was really hoping for some in Coosa County.

Mine may be done - no rain in sight

Soil Had some moisture when i planted - some has come up - we might hav gotten 1/8 inch yesterday

Showed great chances for multiple days before we planted. Record rain for 5 years now a drought - typical of my luck

I wanted to give throw and mow a shot and got two 1/2 acre spots planted just before getting .5 inch couple of days ago.The rest I will finish tilling tommorrow. Dirt looks great and has moisture but with absolutely zero rain forecast in the next 10 days I am gonna hold off until next good rain event, whenever that will be.

Sounds like you got smoked by some army worms.

Thats what I thought because my bermuda in the yard was brown as well. My hay field is green and looks untouched right next to it and I cant find an army worm anywhere. IDK
