It is unbelievable how they get on these huge deer. This one is one hoss of a stud.

I watched one of their videos a few weeks ago where they made a run through a couple of states scouting and hanging stands. Lee alluded to a giant buck they found. Didn't tell where it was, if this is that deer I understand.

I mean really..........Bill Winke, Lee Lakosky, Bill Jordan have hunted some premiere real estate for many years and not killed the sheer number of high scoring bucks this dude has.

His checkbook. He pays for the intel on location of these deer and then pays for permission.

These seem like good dudes, helping communities with their meat drives, and very open about their faith. I like how they've kept their platform on YouTube and not let someone come in and make a network show. I'm certainly envious of the deer they harvest but I have a day job and know my limitations.

I’ve always liked their content. I believe you shoot’em where you can find them. Hunting neighborhoods isn’t my thing but someone needs to do it to keep things in check.

That is a huge deer, but I hate when folks long arm the deer in the picture. With the forced perspective, it looks like it has 20" G2's and 60" of mass.

Bingo. One doesn’t simply drive to a city 3-4 states away, and just meander around and happen upon 180-200” deer consistently. Even in Atlanta it would be tough to find a buck over 150” just randomly. Got to give these guys credit, they found a way to make their hunting hobby a business and that enables them to spend more time (and money) in pursuit of giant bucks. The biggest hindrance to average joes killing big bucks is hunting where those bucks are. The second biggest hindrance to the average Joe killing big bucks is having the free time to hunt.

This. Not as hard when you run multiple cell cams in multiple states with no family or job responsibilities. When the big buck you are hunting daylights, you can be there the next am etc. That’s how they do it.

It’s been pointed out on YouTube by several you tube hunters that the seek one dudes pay to play. That one guy spook whatever said it on some podcast I saw a short on too. I mean common sense tells you that even with no job or responsibilities, you still wouldnt consistently find and kill deer of that caliber on your own, without help, free range, legally. One of the above must not be true to achieve results such as that dude does. Who else puts YouTube videos out routinely killing 170”+ bucks on permission pieces or “leased” pieces even? These guys pay for intel and pay for permission on deer they find, similar to a big YouTube turkey hunter everyone loves to watch.

I agree. Hunting in town or even on smaller places surrounding towns isn't much fun. I've done it and it is an easy way to get meat. But, I like to hunt large parcels (public and private). I'd rather be where I can't hear people, dogs, or cars. But that is getting tougher every year.

I've seen several of the videos and in my mind, he's killing yard deer. These deer are not afraid of human smells and sounds. Not to downplay their achievements but killing a deer on five acres in a neighborhood is not the same as killing the same deer free range.

He’s got a whole network of people scouring the internet and the entire country looking for these deer. These people have their own networks, who have their own networks. It’s known within these groups that they can sell information on these giant bucks. A finders fee so to speak. Once the deer and its location is confirmed, he can roll in there and start “knocking on doors” as he likes to say. He conveniently fails to mention the insane amounts of money he throws around for this access. Do you really believe a deer of that magnitude exists in an area where everyone is hunting him and that there’s landowners in the immediate area that are untapped by hunters? He just offers that much more money than regular hunters are willing to pay, and I’ve even read where he guarantees a certain amount if he kills his target buck. Like “I’ll give you $1k to let me hunt your tiny lot, but I’ll throw in another $15k if I kill a deer.” He knows going in that there’s only 1 deer he’s willing to shoot, and it’ll be worth his money.

I’d bet the farm that if any one of us had the location of a 200” buck, you could have Ellis on the phone within the hour.

Bingo. Exactly right. Thank you sir.

Kinda like the young boys around here killing all the ducks every year. “Man they’re just awesome duck hunters! They shoot limits every weekend!” I hear a lot. No, they just pay other boys for the info and pay other boys to sit on holes all night while they sleep in their own bed. Roll in about 5 am and let the hole watcher go home. One of the best ones told me that to my face. More power to him. Doesn’t interest me in the slightest. Kind of defeats the purpose of why I hunt.

I have an acquaintance that does this. He has killed a good bit of B&C bucks and a few over 200" to boot. Top that off he isn't even 40yrs old yet. He was telling me last season, that in any given year he has on average two farms locked down that possess a known 200" deer. Some farms he locks up due to just having a high caliber deer with potential to reach 200". He will tie them up for multiple years until that particular buck reaches full potential. Dude offers money to hold the farm and then there is a fee he pays once he harvest the deer. In some cases, the landowner wants all the cash up front. Last year he spent $125k on lease rights for just himself and that was a low year.. There is definitely a network of individuals that participate in this "pay to play" game. Not much difference that paying a HF outfitter in my opinion.

Oh god, please no one tell my wife...she wants to jump that dude's bones so bad she cant stand it, she thinks he is hot...I had to elbow her in the side to get her to stop staring at him at the deer expo back in July.
I was like "Baby stop staring, you're gonna freak that poor guy out.

He came by my office asking permission to hunt on our property. I knew who he was and asked him about it. Then said no.

He basically told you there was a giant roaming there. I would’ve got up and hung a stand 😂

Wouldn’t gonna mention it but it happens for even smaller deer than the ones he is killing… just in my small community I’ve hunted a couple of deer on small “city” tracts of land. I’d mow grass or pick up brush, do a neighborly chore to gain access because I am out and about to know what comes through. Just last year or maybe the year before, a well known hunter in the Area just happened to gain permission. Someone sent him a photo they took through the windshield of their vehicle…. He has lots more money than me and I am out a honey hole…. Is what it is
Congrats to the guys that can do what they love

To each their own. What they do is no different than going to a fishing lodge or an elk lodge out west. They are paying for access and intel, much like a guide would provide. I enjoy watching their videos as they are entertaining but have zero desire to hunt like that. A big part of hunting for me is getting out deep in the woods, going back to camp, eating good, and making memories.

If I had Trump money, I still wouldn’t do that. I’m happy with my 125 max bucks. Both it them in 40 years if hunting.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I’d be owing land in SD, Bama, MS delta, and Missouri. I’d hunt all the damn time. But not paying folks to hunt in their backyard. Good for them tho.

Yeah, I get on landwatch every couple months and think about what a billion dollars would buy. But, then my kids would probably turn into A-holes, so not being rich is probably better.

I'm sure y'all have heard the saying, to kill giant deer you have to hunt where one lives. Well, that is exactly what these guys are doing. Their drive is to hunt and kill world class deer and they aren't behind every tree. They are eliminating the unknown if a giant lives on the property they gain access to hunt. I think their approach is very smart and money better spent rather than randomly leasing a property for years hoping it's capable of producing a world class deer. I can speak from experience and a lot of money spent on just trying to kill one that will gross B&C. I hunt for the enjoyment and relaxation; however, I'd be lying if I told anyone I did not desire to kill a 170 or better. It does get frustrating to spend thousands of dollars annually and never see a deer that will break 150".

"Tomorrow is the most important thing in life.
Comes to us at midnight very clean.
It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands.
It hopes we've learned something from yesterday."

If I had trump money I’d have a huge quail plantation with some fine hunting dogs. Screw these deer. Also I would have some of the best turkey habitat in the state. And a camp with a bidet.

He ate lunch at Timberline a few years ago during the season. My son talked to him for a little bit. Always wondered where he was hunting in Shelby County.

His checkbook. He pays for the intel on location of these deer and then pays for permission.

There is probably some of that going on and his content is a lot less interesting now that he is hunting multiple cities and states instead of his own urban area. But I do believe he got his start in Atlanta with pure effort and hard work, and with a day job like most of us. A lot of folks on here act like anyone could do what he does, but no one gives that level of dedication, and still wouldn't get these results if they did. That or their effort is misplaced into obsession over their camo pattern, gear, ATV, and food plots. His style is not my personal hunting preference, but I bet there are a lot of people on this site who spend 3x the money he does and will never shoot one deer like his.

Yep. The guy isn't my cup of tea, don't really care to watch his shows. But..... Regardless of how he is doing it, He has to 100% dedicate his time year round, to killing big deer. Especially when he first started out. Very few of us would put in the kind of effort he does. I know I wouldn't.

Story for the one pictured is it was on big open ground in Ohio, he asked about some smaller properties and got permission to them. All the big ground was leased up. One of the smaller properties was the buck’s home, very small property.

I’d shoot the piss out of it and let it ride on the front of my truck back to Bama.

Deer scored 215”

If I had Trump's $ , I'd have one of the finest high end Elk ranches in the Rockies and y'all could have all those stinking Whitetails regardless of score.

I’d trade you fishing trips to anywhere in the world. I’d own boat(s) at the best offshore/inshore places known to man. With a decent place to stay at each one.

Earlier in this thread I heard someone throw around the notion that he would pay out $15-$20k to the landowner if he ended up taking the buck...if that is true, it sounds a little crazy at surface level, but think about it....it would not take very many years to spend that much money on a lease every year....think about it, how many people do you know that spend $2k-$3k every year to be in a club, even a high end one, and they will likely never shoot a deer over 200"

I’ll never be able to find it again, but I read some FB comments of a guy who had been hunting the deer. He had pics, so it seemed legit. Anyway, he claimed Lee flew a drone for days patterning the deer, paid an insane amount of money to get some hunters kicked off a lease, then killed the deer a few days later. Idk if any of this is true, but dude’s story sure seemed credible.

And everyone subscribed to his YouTube channel is paying for it.

I’d shoot the piss out of it and let it ride on the front of my truck back to Bama.

Deer scored 215”

I’ll never be able to find it again, but I read some FB comments of a guy who had been hunting the deer. He had pics, so it seemed legit. Anyway, he claimed Lee flew a drone for days patterning the deer, paid an insane amount of money to get some hunters kicked off a lease, then killed the deer a few days later. Idk if any of this is true, but dude’s story sure seemed credible.

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit. I would think scouting with a drone is illegal?

Smart idea though!

More power to them, along with every other idiot who hunts like em. But I wouldn’t hunt around all that damn racket, traffic, crack whores, screaming kids, lawnmowers, etc. if there was a 200”, smells humans 365 days a year, half domesticated, aint got anywhere to escape to, deer behind every damn tree.

Watched a few of his early videos and on one he was dumping a lot of corn out to bait the bucks. Another he shot a deer as it crossed between a gap in a fence with houses close in the background. Another he shot a buck and tracked it where it dropped in a ballfield park it looked like. Not my thing at all. I would be scared of flinging broadheads around houses and where there are kids around, brrrrr.
