I'm sure y'all have heard the saying, to kill giant deer you have to hunt where one lives. Well, that is exactly what these guys are doing. Their drive is to hunt and kill world class deer and they aren't behind every tree. They are eliminating the unknown if a giant lives on the property they gain access to hunt. I think their approach is very smart and money better spent rather than randomly leasing a property for years hoping it's capable of producing a world class deer. I can speak from experience and a lot of money spent on just trying to kill one that will gross B&C. I hunt for the enjoyment and relaxation; however, I'd be lying if I told anyone I did not desire to kill a 170 or better. It does get frustrating to spend thousands of dollars annually and never see a deer that will break 150".

If I had Trump money, I still wouldn’t do that. I’m happy with my 125 max bucks. Both it them in 40 years if hunting. Oh don’t get me wrong. I’d be owing land in SD, Bama, MS delta, and Missouri. I’d hunt all the damn time. But not paying folks to hunt in their backyard. Good for them tho. Man I hear you . Id buy me a couple 1000ac put a cabin right on the middle

I mean really..........Bill Winke, Lee Lakosky, Bill Jordan have hunted some premiere real estate for many years and not killed the sheer number of high scoring bucks this dude has. Can't figure where he keeps all his horseshoes. lol His checkbook. He pays for the intel on location of these deer and then pays for permission. There is probably some of that going on and his content is a lot less interesting now that he is hunting multiple cities and states instead of his own urban area. But I do believe he got his start in Atlanta with pure effort and hard work, and with a day job like most of us. A lot of folks on here act like anyone could do what he does, but no one gives that level of dedication, and still wouldn't get these results if they did. That or their effort is misplaced into obsession over their camo pattern, gear, ATV, and food plots. His style is not my personal hunting preference, but I bet there are a lot of people on this site who spend 3x the money he does and will never shoot one deer like his.

The guy isn't my cup of tea, don't really care to watch his shows. But..... Regardless of how he is doing it, He has to 100% dedicate his time year round, to killing big deer. Especially when he first started out. Very few of us would put in the kind of effort he does. I know I wouldn't.

Story for the one pictured is it was on big open ground in Ohio, he asked about some smaller properties and got permission to them. All the big ground was leased up. One of the smaller properties was the buck’s home, very small property.
I’d shoot the piss out of it and let it ride on the front of my truck back to Bama.
Deer scored 215”

If I had Trump's $ , I'd have one of the finest high end Elk ranches in the Rockies and y'all could have all those stinking Whitetails regardless of score.

I’d trade you fishing trips to anywhere in the world. I’d own boat(s) at the best offshore/inshore places known to man. With a decent place to stay at each one.

Earlier in this thread I heard someone throw around the notion that he would pay out $15-$20k to the landowner if he ended up taking the buck...if that is true, it sounds a little crazy at surface level, but think about it....it would not take very many years to spend that much money on a lease every year....think about it, how many people do you know that spend $2k-$3k every year to be in a club, even a high end one, and they will likely never shoot a deer over 200"

Deer scored 215” I’ll never be able to find it again, but I read some FB comments of a guy who had been hunting the deer. He had pics, so it seemed legit. Anyway, he claimed Lee flew a drone for days patterning the deer, paid an insane amount of money to get some hunters kicked off a lease, then killed the deer a few days later. Idk if any of this is true, but dude’s story sure seemed credible.

He’s got a whole network of people scouring the internet and the entire country looking for these deer. These people have their own networks, who have their own networks. It’s known within these groups that they can sell information on these giant bucks. A finders fee so to speak. Once the deer and its location is confirmed, he can roll in there and start “knocking on doors” as he likes to say. He conveniently fails to mention the insane amounts of money he throws around for this access. Do you really believe a deer of that magnitude exists in an area where everyone is hunting him and that there’s landowners in the immediate area that are untapped by hunters? He just offers that much more money than regular hunters are willing to pay, and I’ve even read where he guarantees a certain amount if he kills his target buck. Like “I’ll give you $1k to let me hunt your tiny lot, but I’ll throw in another $15k if I kill a deer.” He knows going in that there’s only 1 deer he’s willing to shoot, and it’ll be worth his money.
I’d bet the farm that if any one of us had the location of a 200” buck, you could have Ellis on the phone within the hour.
And everyone subscribed to his YouTube channel is paying for it.
You're only as good as your worst shot-

More power to them, along with every other idiot who hunts like em. But I wouldn’t hunt around all that damn racket, traffic, crack whores, screaming kids, lawnmowers, etc. if there was a 200”, smells humans 365 days a year, half domesticated, aint got anywhere to escape to, deer behind every damn tree.
