I went on my 10th hunt in this first season today. I have been fortunate to kill the limit on 9 of them and killed 12 on a morning shoot a few weeks ago. The crazy thing is that my group of friends and I all still have doves. I’ve been doing this a long time and it might be the best first split that I can remember I guess these are the good old days Here’s a pic from last Sunday

Haven't been yet.....nobody I know here in East Central Alabama nor myself ever had more than a handful using a field. Hardly ever see any on the power lines either. More were around in the summer than when season came in. I see MORE on the power lines out Fort Morgan road....tempted to do a driveby with a .410!!
BTW, what county are you hunting in?

Good deal on the dove hunting. Last year was rough.

Sounds like you have had a great season! I think I got limits on 5 of 7 hunts last year, and this year I haven't gotten more than 8 on a hunt . We haven't had enough birds to shoot most weeks.

Last year was much like the OP's for us. This year has been thinner. Just sat out the last 2 weeks but noticed birds flying the other day, going to try again this last weekend.
