Inquiring minds want to know! A little preliminary testing with some new propellants in the 308 for the 165 gamekings. Just because. Confirming my go-to IMR 3031 load and trying out some A 2495 and A 2520 - and one loading of Varget. I would like to think this is a serious inquiry for alternates and substitutes, and that my be true to a certain degree. If I remember 2495 is Accurates take on 4895 your .308 will like it. Varget is great powder too.
Skinny is my EX.Alcohol was involved.

Varget and IMR 4064 are always good in the .308 with 150’s and 165’s

3031 load was 2/3", a 2495 load was 2/3", and the varget load was a shim over 1/2".
First time varget has shown out with this rifle and cartridge combo. Had 7 recipes today and none of them were dogs.
Hard to argue with several choices under MOA for a workhorse game bullet.
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?
