It’s not that bad. I remember when they said 565 was too big. Drive Atlanta. Dallas. Los Angeles. Chicago. Do those four and Huntsville is chicken feed.

I remember one hospital I worked in LA area I had an 10 mile commute, 1 1/2hrs every morning. Going in at night wasn’t as bad, 45’ish minutes. If I worked the 11a-11p shift 20 minutes tops. My apt complex was at the orange crush, I-5, 22 and 57 interchange.
Finally deported myself from the peoples republik of Kaliforkistan.

This area is annoying with it's continual growth. But I don't fret driving here like I do with Chatanooga and Atlanta.

Y’all are full of crap. I drive through Huntsville daily. It’s horrible. The ones saying it’s not bad don’t drive it daily during rush hour.
I do. Used to drive Birmingham traffic. There were days when my 12 mile drive to work took over an hour.

That's what I was going to add to put this into perspective. In Birmingham a 45 minute commute to work could mean you just made it to Chelsea which is just South of Town. You can live in Scottsboro or Florence and get to work in Huntsville faster.
Birmingham is nowhere near as bad as Chattanooga IMO.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I can tolerate it, but I go in early & therefore get off early to miss most of it. I arrive at the office at or slightly before 6am & leave 2:45 to 3pm. Outside that window puts you into the thickest part of rush hour. Like everywhere I suppose, if folks would get off their phones, slow down, & be more attentive we'd all be better off.
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

I'm from Dallas County for all my driving life so yes, Huntsville traffic is more than I like, but I've been in worse. When I have to drive in Huntsville I try to avoid rush hour.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Huntsville traffic is based on about a 15 minute window. If you’re driving through Huntsville at 7am headed to work, you’re fine. If you’re driving through at 715, every one from 4 counties around will be on the road.
I can leave my house at 7am and be at work on redstone in about 30 minutes (22 miles to work). If I leave at 715 or later then it’s a solid hour to include nightmare gate traffic.
The afternoons suck, unless you work until 6.
