If I had Trump's $ , I'd have one of the finest high end Elk ranches in the Rockies and y'all could have all those stinking Whitetails regardless of score. You ever smelled an elk they literally stink and can be smelled from a good ways away. Gross Yes they do!! But a big bull moose smells even worse. I came across a bull moose in northern Idaho and oh my gosh did that thing stink. I smelled it long before I saw it. They might stink, but both elk meat and especially moose meat are superior to deer meat in my opinion. And you're opinion is correct. Had Elk steaks last week, mighty fine. A feller that's never had Elk or Moose can take good cuts out of all three , cook them the same way and he'll feed the deer to the dog.
