Anybody have experience using tin for the sides on a shooting house? I scavenged several old pieces from a neighbor, probably enough to build at least two shooting houses. Thinking as long as I frame it up well, the tin should be fine (as long as you bump the sides while hunting out of it).

Thoughts?

I’ve hunted in some that were made of speed rack material with tin for the sides and top. Worked really good just a little loud if you bumped it.

Yep I think it works great just be easy on the sides. I muted in one where the carpet ran up the sides a couple of feet and that helped muffle any bumps with your feet.

Frame, wrap in plastic, tin on outside, insulation then interior siding. Thats how ive done the last two. Cuts down on air escaping and keeps heat in. Sliding plexiglass windows in home made wood frames. Deer dont know youre there

We have a couple made of used corregated tin. But, if I was buying it I wouldn't use it.

I have 8 that have used tin for siding. Works great breaking the wind and hiding movement. You can get them comfortable on a cold day with a heater, just not like the insulated apartments some hunt from.

Got several 5x5 all tin shooting houses. Be sure all the tin is secured. The top should be osb or plywood under the tin or else you might get dripped on from moisture . Other than that the only downside is windows are tricky to install.

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Have several. Only issue I have with them is like stated above they are loud when bumped. Carpet will solve that problem though

I've got one that me and a buddy welded half inch emt and made the box and then screwed 1x4's around the outside to attach the hunter green tin to and used 3/4 pressure treated plywood for the floor. I really like this stand alot and it being 4x6 it has plenty of room for me and my 9 year old son.
