Had an awesome weekend with my little boy. It was hot and we traveled many a weary mile on public land but he hung in there very tough the entire time. I couldn't be more proud of him than I am right now.
We didn't have a ton of luck with the squirrels, but we did manage to shoot one out for his cur pup we are training. This weekend's tromp through the hardwoods was more of a lesson in how to be quiet and remain focused more so than anything. I am one blessed dude.

my oldest is 4, last weekend was the first time we have ever been

I started my oldest (7) when he was about that age. It’s rough on em in my part of the country. Up and down mostly. Had to keep him on the ridges and in the bottoms…

I bought my curs pups when Stephen was 4 and by the time he was 6 which was my goal they were on fire. Just hate we got so wrapped up in deer hunting several years later and didn’t hunt them enough.
