Cereal rye and crimson clover Not to derail the thread, but what is the latest you would overseed with clover?

Im sure this has probably been discussed here before as i think this is about the 3rd year in a row we have gone 6-8 weeks with zero rain around planting time. We got our plots in early September (were limited on free time to get it done). Ground was wet at the time of planting so fields came up somewhat, but has not rained since. Has anyone had success with going back and overseeding. If so what type of seed did you use and did you add more fertilizer as well? I’ve had luck with wheat, oats, and rye.
83% of all statistics are made up.

Me too Brad, but I'm pretty far south. If I over seed though, now, I always use wheat. I don't add fertilizer, it hasn't gone anywhere.

Cereal rye and crimson clover Not to derail the thread, but what is the latest you would overseed with clover? According to the literature ideal soil temps for crimson clover germination is between 65-68 degrees but it can germinate in soil temps as low as 42 degrees……Higher temps promotes faster germination……For Alabama that likely gives you a really long window of time….I’ve never monitored soil temps all the way through winter but I’m guessing you could spread crimson just about any time during the fall/winter months……..November is probably the most ideal month truth be told……Clover likes moist and cool

Piggy backing off the clover, what about overseeding or planting white clovers this last?

I gonna throw some clover before rain - all i that i got left over
Ought to go throw some rye and hav a pretty field - but i dont want to put it out. But that crap will grow and they will hit it hard
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever
