Guess if you limit it to bolt guns the 22 Creed is going to be tough to beat, at the expense of barrel life.
But if we limit it to the AR15 platform what would be your choice, 224 Valkyrie, 22 ARC or 223 Wylde (1:7 ). ? Goal is to find the best wind bucking flat shooting .22 that could double as a deer round if needed.
Barrel length would likely be 20-22” in AR.
What would you choose and why ?

Hornady 75 gr ELDM. Anything heavier will probably not fit the magazines in an AR.

88 grain eld-m
A regular ol’ 223 with a 77 grain TMK ain’t no slouch either.

I'm all about high sectional density long bullets but how fast/far can we expect those 88s in a 5.56x45 case? I won't repeat what Elmer Keith just said about those 22s and raking shots on deer but it was very impolite. Of the AR family is the little 6.5 Grendel the best choice for deer in Bama? And I mean the 15 family not the 10.

Got a couple of 6.5G (AR and RAR) already Love the efficiency. Would really like to add a 338 ARC when they become available for suppressed work. Due to that I’m thinking a 22 ARC would be a good choice, due to magazine interchangeability.

.223 Wylde plain and simple for tried and true and various types and weights of ammunition readily available. Is it the best? No but it’ll do the job even on deer but personally I wouldn’t push it much over 100 yards on deer.
I’ve killed deer with both but the Grendel is far superior in my opinion.

If I was going to out perform the 223 in the AR platform I’d go 22-250 and ammo is still readily available
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

In a bolt gun, a 1-7 twist 22-250 Ackley Improved??? Now we're getting somewhere! The 22-250 has been hobbled by that 1-14" twist for years. Ruger made a run of 22-250 Americans with a 1-8" twist years back IF you can find one.

22 arc with 80gr eld-x. Gives you the option of using Ar15 platform or bolt gun. 22 creed can’t do that, although the 22cm is quite a bit faster. For practical ranges with this bullet that speed doesn’t really get you any substantial benefit.
Hornady factory load should be around 2850 in 16” barrel from an AR. 2925+ from a 20-22” bolt gun.
Edited to add: Valkyrie is a dead cartridge. 22 creed is awesome, but in a bolt gun. Having it in an ar10 will be a 12 lb+ rifle that you don’t want to tote.

My 223 with 62gr Barnes is deadly on deer. AR with a 1in 8 or 9 twist
You haven't been blocked until you've been flock blocked!!!
