I saw 22 does in a field yesterday where I live. Not a single horn amongst them. Very minimal hunting pressure in several miles in any direction. We don't shoot any does and kill 1-2 bucks a year.
We will burn that bridge when we get there

A number of factors contribute. Buck disbursement, harvest on properties in a two - five square mile radius, higher natural mortality due to rigors of rut and secretive/noctural nature of bucks in general.
We have a couple of old ag fields where you can sit and see 15-30 does and yearlings and not an altered buck all season.

It dont take the (wrong person) over a pile a corn very long to destroy a property with no restrictions. I have deer traveling over a mile on a regular basis right now and they havent even started scraping yet. All it takes is a feeder in a back yard or on a 3 or 4 acre spot somewhere and if it gets hunted often it can be severe.

So did we (Club i was in) Until we stopped shooting does for several seasons and only Bucks. Went from mostly Buck pics to nothing but does, and a hard really exciting Rut to we didn't even recognize ifn they were rutting at all 😆
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

Sure it was great seeing all those does but our rut went to crap and would hardly see any bucks at all. Now we try to keep the does in check. We try to take 1 doe per 100ac we have. We usually end up close to that and maybe a few more every season. We now see bucks on a regular basis and have a pretty decent rut as long as the weather cooperates. Not sure if that’s the right way to do it but it works for us. Also we only try to take out mature does. Especially the ones that like to walk around just blowing at any little thing that moves.

Dont you know that CORN and doe shootin' has the deer herd in Alabama, headed straight toward extinction. Talking about shooting does gets CNC just as fired up as telling him that Milroe is not going to win the heisman and is currently ranked 44th in the nation in raw QBR, even though he's the greatest QB to ever put on pads.

Yep.....the number of folks doing that has increased dramatically and more bucks have been killed as a result......Just is what it is

Alabama has a young buck killing problem. That some are tying to fix with a doe blasting problem.
It don't work. Never has and never will.
If all you have is does stop shooting small bucks. It's that simple. Not shooting them? Well someone is.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I see the same deer every morning and afternoon. Problem is there is a ton of feed between the two bridges and only you and one other guy shooting them. Been like that for at least 10 years or so. Note that I did see one really big body deer in the hayfield about 6 weeks ago. He/it was a stud. Definitely caught my eye when I crossed the county line. Saw him twice in two weeks and too foggy the other time to see a rack from where he was standing. Might be at least one out there for you.
Don't give up, don't ever give up!

I remember back around 2007 some well known Auburn grads claiming we needed "harvest records" to straighten out the buck to doe ratios and buck age structure etc. etc. in Alabama. That turned into "game check" and all it's wonderful benefits.
Now. 20 years later we need tags to git 'er done? If by “git 'er done” you mean compensate for the additional buck harvesting that baiting created…….then yes, probably so

How will tags make people kill does when they don't want to kill does?
It won’t!!
