How’d you cook it? My brother caught a big yellowfin and give me some steaks but I’ve never had any dealings with tuna. He’s never cooked it either

How’d you cook it? My brother caught a big yellowfin and give me some steaks but I’ve never had any dealings with tuna. He’s never cooked it either I dried the steaks off good and coated both sides with blackening seasoning. Heated my cast iron skillet to it smoked a little. Poured some grape seed oil and dropped some unsalted butter in. I cooked on each side about 45 seconds. I haven’t done it a lot but this seems to work for me.

Appreciate it, I’ll try it soon That’s about how I do it minus the oil. I don’t cook it as long and get the skillet or blackstone as hot as possible. The key is to keep the inside rare rare rare. Or raw really. IMHO the best way to eat any yellowfin if raw with soy sauce or some other kind of sushi dips. TS great job it looks incredible!
