I’ was just wondering how safe it was. Got a 20ga and can’t find my factory choke for it.. little man gonna use it. Long as it’s lead you’ll be fine.

Shot some through a comp n choke xxx full. It shot great. All 15 00 pellets in 10" circle at 40. However, It must have ruined the choke. Now it scatters a 5' pattern at same distance. That’s where I was kinda leaning with my question. Shooting buckshot out of the choke I turkey hunt with has me kinda nervous.. he may have to shoot the ol single shot and save the worry bc he probably won’t get bit one shot anyhow…

I have killed a few with regular full and 000 buck but when I went to a modified tube in my 12 ga , I never looked back. Patterns were a LLT better and I always thought it was because the shot didn't get deformed going through the tighter choke. Good luck to the little man, enjoy the times with him in the woods. They grow up way too quickly.
Remember: It aint what you shoot...it's how you shoot it.

If federal makes a flight control 20ga, I’d say shoot that through a regular modified. If your turkey choke is rated for TSS, it should shoot lead #1s just fine in a 20ga. As for ‘best’ pattern, that’d take some experimenting. I keep a 20ga ‘rabbit’ gun at the camp and some 20ga #1s with an SRM Terror duck tube for kids to shoot in a pinch. I’d use it with no reservations.

I patterned a few chokes today. That being said the best one was one I had that I couldn’t find until after I returned from buying another.. Jeb’s high voltage.580 Remington 20ga for sale…
