I didn't know there were any up there until I saw a guy catch one on a minner yesterday around the bridge in north sauty
We will burn that bridge when we get there

I read somewhere that a few have been caught from Lake Martin, but haven't seen them myself.
I was surprised when we went on a trip to Maine a few years ago that small yellow perch schooled together like shad and seemed to be one of the primary prey species of the trout and smallmouth. They would get on the surface and the bigger fish would bust the water just like you see bass attacking shad around here.
All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.

Oh yeh…nary a shortage of them at all. You subject to catchem on all the creek channels, deep drop sloughs an bridges… usually mixed in with crappie, sauger, and the occasional and rare walleye. Sometimes theyll be mixed in with bloogals too ..Me an daddy found a bunch years ago an we caught a bunch of them thangs.

I have seen several while bowfishing on Yates lake, on the north end near Martin dam Caught one up in sandy creek and one in the middle pond. Both pretty small but cool to catch

I remember them back in the 80's being stocked in Guntersville along with the grass eating carp.

They’re on the southern end near Kowaliga Creek and Little Kowaliga Creek. They like clear water. A few years back we cooked some that would have been a new state record. At the time it was only 1lb3oz and had no clue. Now it’s 2lb and a couple oz’s.
