my inlaws are wanting to get a practical christmas present for me. im looking at a battery operated chainsaw as i dont need/want a gas one for the simple fact that i dont use one very often... it will mostly be used for cutting up a few dead limbs that fall on the property and to clean up some old shrubs around my moms house and mine
what is a decent one to look at?

I have no idea, but would think Stihl would make a good one because they make a great gas chainsaw.

I'd buy around the battery - find the batteries that have the best reputation, and buy all your tools - Skilsaw, Blower, string trimmer, chainsaw, etc around that brand.

Only one I’ve used is a Stihl and really liked it. Thanks what I’ll get if my small gas saw ever goes down.

I’ve used a Milwaukee and I was pleasantly surprised! Easier to tote than my 066 for small jobs.

I just bought a dewalt. Havent used it much. Its supposed to cut 90 4x4s on a charge. Ill post a review after i use it some. Not a chainsaw but I have a Dewalt pole saw and I really like it. No issues in over a year. Charge lasts pretty long. Had to trim back my oak tree in driveway before roofers came and it did the trick with plenty of battery power left.

I have a Dewalt and my son has a Milwaukee. Both have been great.
I wish my Dewalt had a bigger battery pack for longer use but I make due.

I have an EGO 56V. So far, it has served me well and is a cutting machine. Mostly small jobs clearing around the house. Run time has been great.
