Opinions on which ground blind to get. My 7yo is starting to hunt with me and I see these ground blinds that you can see out but not in.

I'm looking for opinions/suggestions on those that are also a durable groundblind.

I bought a Muddy Prevue 2 for my wife to hunt out of in Nebraska. We are currently hunting in it for the first time so I can’t speak on the longevity of it, but it seems well made.

I will just give you this advice from personal experience, place it where you are going to hunt from it at least 2 weeks before you hunt it. If you don't the deer, especially an old buck will know something is not kosher. Then when you leave it there, a tree branch will fall and find it.

I'm told by turkey hunters that for them same day placing and hunting works.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Ameristep Doghouse blinds are good quality and cheap. I have three and they last for about 4 years out in the field for 4 months a year. Had a damn feral cat or raccoon tear one all up one time though.

Own 4 of these now. Well made. I put em out in September, and by now the deer don't even pay them any attention.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I've got several of these that have to be at least 15 years old. One thing that might have made them last is that I treated them with a waterproof spray when I got them. I always take them up after the season and store them in the house. They are getting ragged and will have to be replaced soon, but they can last a long time if you take care of them.

If I was getting a pop up for two people I'd get the bigger one they make . The regular size just ain't big enough. The six sided one is just better. If you decide to add a heater the four sided just won't work with two people

If you get a pop up and plan on leaving it out get some 3/8clear tubing and slide it over the fiberglass rods . As stated water proofing is a must . Be sure to tie them down good I had one blow away and I've never found it

There are videos online how to fold them up watching them is a big plus .

It all depends on how much you want to sink into them and what you want to do with them. The doghouse blinds are alright for what they are and while they are easy to tote and set up they are made of flimsy materials that will tear easily. They are not made to leave out in the woods for long periods of time and will deteriorate rapidly. If you are looking for something cheap to tote in and out with you the doghouse is your huckleberry. The Tidwe hub blinds are a bit roomier but also heavier and a little bit tougher to set up. They are made more to leave out in the woods but some of the cheaper ones are built out of flimsy materials that will tear easily.

The absolute best are the Double Bulls from Primos. They are made out of heavy duty materials and don't have any loud zippers or velcro. They will last forever if you take care of them and are warrantied forever. The cons are that they are heavy and cumbersome, but they are the kind you set up in the preseason and forget about until season goes out. The other con is the price point.... they are crazy expensive. I don't hunt out of them but I have them for my wife and sometimes I use them when I take a kid hunting, but I wouldn't pay nearly $400 for a blind. I have two of the Double Bull 360's and I paid exactly $100 for each of them. If you start searching Craigslist and Facebook Market Place you can find deals on them. I found one that some ladies son decided he was going to hunt and she bought him a bunch of equipment and he didn't follow through. So she sold me his DB blind for $100. I found two additional ones close to Lake Guntersville. This guys club had a huge youth hunt and Primos donated them a bunch of blinds for the cause. When I met the guy he still had two left still brand new in the box. I bought both of them for $100 a piece but wound up letting a buddy have one of them.

We have used a bunch of them. Ameristep, good visibility, but only last a year or two. Had one of the Primos see-through, it didn't last well at all, which I thought was unusual considering the weight.

My clear winner has been Barronett. We have one, not left out full time, but we have been using is for a full 4-6 months each year, and it is 4 years old. From now on, that's the brand I will buy. I'm not worried about zipper noise going in/out, because I get in early, and sit until I can't see. Once I'm in, I stay there.
