Hoover at Thompson tonight. Both teams at 6-2 but I think Thompson is undefeated in region play. Should be a good game with good football weather.

Yeah, their only losses were OT losses to Grayson (GA) and Clay Chalkville, both of whom are nationally ranked even higher than them. This one should be a good game.

I just with Tusc County could be at least decent and competitive, but we're just not. We have no business being in 7A, much less the same division as Thompson and Hoover. TCHS's Freshman were dominant last year in middle school...hopefully that translates to being competitive in HS in a couple of years.

Thompson is not as good this year I don't believe, I think Hoover wins tonight. Will be interesting to see if Thompson can make the championship game again. I think Auburn and Central PC are the dogs in 7A.

Central is the only team that's even challenged Auburn......They've spanked everyone else they've played to point of having to call the mercy rule.....Last week they scored 56 points before halftime

Thompsons special teams hurt them again. Hoover wins by an extra point in OT, 27-26.

My feelings exactly. D usually pretty damn good. Offense not as good as last year. They lost some real good receivers. I don’t believe they have a deep playoff run team.

They are in 7a because of enrollment numbers. They will have to lose 200 students before they can move down a classification.

What region other than region 3 should they be in? Region 1 (Mobile area), Region 2 (Montgomery area), Region 4 (Huntsville area)

I understand why they’re in it. I meant they have no business from a standpoint of being competitive. At one point they were only single-digits over the enrollment number for 7a but I think they only reclassify every few years. I really hope they can drop back down but the way Northport is growing I doubt that happens

Gomer, Northport will need to start their own city school system if they won't to be more competitive. Probably a lot of money leaving Northport to support other county schools. That's how it was in Alabaster.

Auburn vs Thompson should be a good game next week......I dont think I've ever seen a team just curb stomp everyone the way Auburn is doing.....Opelika and Phenix City are the only folks that have even given them a game......They beat Bob Jones last night worse than Bama playing a D2 school.....Doesnt even look like they should be on the same field together......Bob Jones had some big ol' boys too.....Right tackle was 6'7" 330 lbs and the guard was 360 lbs

Thompson not as good as previous years, imo. I believe Auburn is the top dawg this year, a win over Thompson after beating CPhCity earlier would be big for them..

It would be good to see another match up between Opelika and Auburn.

BTW, Opelika beat Central, also.
OHS has less than half the students that AHS has.

Opelika has a tough road to get there. Hoover is next and then probably Central again. Would be interesting to have Auburn and Opelika in the championship game.

Opelika’s HC Moore has been suspended for Hoover game after pics of him on the sideline of Hoover/Fairhope game wearing a Student Media Pass were made public.
