I’m having to work nights so there’s no hunting for me this weekend but my wife took my son this afternoon and he’s been on a dry spell for a couple years. He had turned into a 10 year old trophy hunter but there was one problem with that. We ain’t got trophies walking out very often. Hopefully he reached a turning point this afternoon. We might get enough ground meat out of it to actually have one meal. Lol! He shot a doe fawn and is just as happy as if it were a 10 pointer. I’m just glad he decided to pull the trigger on a deer. The .243 landed a devastating blow. It was almost too much gun for this one.

We saw 12 this evening nothing my son always interested in shooting.

Almost got a shot at a good buck this morning. Just to much brush in the way and he didn’t shoot. I had binocs on him waiting.
All of about thirty seconds. He said o clear shot and really wasn’t. Oh well. Next time

Congrats killers

My 12 YO boy killed a doe this eve. Pretty funny - had 5 deer in the plot early.. 3:50. Two fawns, two yearlings, and a big ole doe. My boy watches them for a few minutes then turns and says to me, "you think we need to sit a while and wait on a buck, or do you want to go ahead and get this over with?"

I got my youngest grandson on his first this evening, a spike. Happy boy and a happy pawpaw
