Yes, I mounted a vortex red dot on a Rossi 44 mag lever action using the skinner base. It is an excellent deer gun out to 100 yds. My youngest boy killed a 200 lb axis buck with it in Texas two years ago.

Looking at putting a fast fire on my old model 94. Anyone ever done this? Pros, cons? Don’t wanna go side mount scope option. Just need something better than the iron sights. XS scout rail... You'll also need the raise the comb of your stock to match the optic. I use leather stock cuffs from RLO and they work perfectly. The forward mounted optic allows carry at balance and doesn't screw up the wonderful handling of a lever gun.

Jonny Loco i bet can tell you. He had a topic on red dots just a couple weeks ago about mounts for a red dot Depends on the year of choice options. (Drilled & tapped) I respect the Win 94 but I don’t use them because I like the simplicity of the Marlin action and the flat top. If I had a Win 94 action it would only be sporting XS sights. The only leverguns I have left are the Henry BIg Boy Steels S&W 1854 Marlin Round bolt actions 336/95 (Not 1894) Rossi R95 I have really thinned the levergun herd over the last few years.
