You are right. Dogs are just doing what dogs are supposed to do. It’s the low life hunter’s that turn loose on others property and stand their line waiting on anything their dogs run onto their property who truly need shot.

First step would be a convo.

I wouldn’t shoot them, instead you could catch them and take them to the pound. Nothing illegal about that. And no dead dogs on your conscience.

Lol Actually had this conversation with my only neighbor about this recently.More about it getting in my trash than running the woods which it does occasionally. I just explained how many dangers there are woods what with coyotes, snakes, hogs and coyote eradication methods and if they really cared about the dog it should stay home. I think he got the hint. All bluff though because although an uncollared pit looking dog would have a short life expectancy around here I could never harm a neighbors pet no matter how big a pain it might be. I also let them know that from then on any trash I had I to pick up would be relocated to their driveway. Been about 2 weeks with no visits so maybe I got through.

Apparently you’ve never had them come check your feeder every damn morning. I have and my deer leave it at the same time now every day because of it.

If they are not turning loose to run my land on purpose I'd kill the deer they run . If they are turning the dogs loose to run across my land . Id tell them I dont know a difference in a stray dog and a hunting dog when they tell me dogs can read no trespassing signs

I had a neighbors beagles running rabbits in my foodplot three times in a row i went hunting, just about the whole time i was there. Granted, im hunting 400yds away from the guys house. Pretty much hunting between a rural residential neighborhood and a pretty large tract of land. On the way out that evning i saw the guy in his yard. I stopped and talked to him. I explained what was happening. I told him i had dogs running loose too that liked to run cars and some people had complained about that. I told him i understood i was trying to hunt in a residential area and i wasnt gona ask him to put his dogs up, i just wanted him to know what i was experiencing every time i went hunting. I was as polite and neighborly as i could be. He put his dogs up till season was over.

if u bring it up to the neighbor and anything happens to the dogs after that, you’re suspect #1. ask me how i know. i was in a different area code with 20 witnesses and yet he claimed he saw my truck and heard the shot. to make it even more interesting, he was an assistant district attorney. fun times!!!
