I hav heard of un collard dog that never made it out of a high dollar lease and barking stopped.

I could never shoot a dog. I would wait a week and talk to the neighbor. Tell him somebody killed his dogs over by your feeder while you were out of town on business.

Dogs are neither human nor special. Do what you need to do.

If the owners cared, their animals wouldn't be roaming, and if the owners don't care, not sure why anyone else would either. It's just a dog, for pete's sake.

Yep!! Kinda like the people who live on the river that stop me and ask if it’s ok to shoot nuisance alligators. I just tell it would have been if you wouldn’t have asked if it’s ok. I tell them that what people don’t know don’t hurt. Do what you have to do and be quiet. With that said, if I knew who the dogs belonged to, I’d start with talking to them. I’d put the ball in their court to solve the problem.

You should read up on animal cruelty laws in the Alabama criminal code. Dogs occasionally do get out even if the owner tries to keep them up.


§13A-11-14. Cruelty to animals. Latest version.
(a) A person commits the crime of cruelty to animals if, except as otherwise authorized by law, he or she recklessly or with criminal negligence:

(1) Subjects any animal to cruel mistreatment; or

(2) Subjects any animal in his or her custody to cruel neglect; or

(3) Kills or injures without good cause any animal belonging to another.

(b) Cruelty to animals is a Class A misdemeanor and on the first conviction of a violation of this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than three thousand dollars ($3,000) or imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or both fine and imprisonment; on a second conviction of a violation of this section, shall be punished by a fine of not less than five hundred dollars ($500) nor more than three thousand dollars ($3,000) or imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or both fine and imprisonment; and on a third or subsequent conviction of a violation of this section, shall be punished by a fine of not less than one thousand dollars ($1,000) nor more than three thousand dollars ($3,000) or imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or both fine and imprisonment.

Seriously doubt these are escapees. I've got them on camera no less than ten times in the last month and a half. Owning an animal also comes with responsibility. You just don't let it roam everywhere and become a nuisance.
