I use one for turkey hunting sometimes, because I can’t sit on the ground very well due to pinched nerve. It works well, but I had to cut about 6 inches off of it.

I killed my biggest buck sitting on one next to a slough. Some have a plastic seat, some have wood covered in padding and fabric. The plastic last longer than the wood and there really isn't enough padding to matter on the wood covered seat, if you are going to be in the water a good bit with it (duck hunting it stays wet). No big deal if you can't find a plastic seat one, you can rebuild the wooden if/when it rots.
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....
