No. Have had friends take this shot with disastrous results. The rack was so large that evidently showing respect for the animal held no value.

Yes, with a rifle there's very few shot angles I can't find a way to kill him. More power to you, if you wait on the perfect shot, but the perfect shot guys are the ones always telling stories about "seeing a big one".

caveat......I spend a lot of time at the range, earning the right to put a bullet where I want to.

I would usually pass on this shot and hope for a better opportunity, but a shot through the pelvis will drop him right there. You may have to finish him but this shot will work.

I did shoot a running buck at 175 yards like this and he piled up immediately. It was a follow up shot on the deer that had already been hit.

First, I would have taken the shot instead of shouting to stop him. But If that is the only shot I have, I am not taking the shot.
