I got a question… how do you prove if the deer has had sex or not and why does it matter?

I’ve gutted a pile of deer but never deboned one. I’m going to have to get proficient at it.

If you don’t figure it out before January I’ll show you how at the Uchee skinning shed

I have questions.

How heavy is that thing?

How does it work? Do you chain it to a tree or something?

Connect it to a strap around a tree. That one weight about 27 pounds. They have one that's 20 pounds. I got a backpack with a frame and shelf to carry it. Also considering a Hawk crawler cart to transport the winch.

Southwood, we hunt some of the same places I think. The hills are no joke. Check out the "gutless method" for packing out deer. I've used it on deer and antelope. Quick and easy.

If I can get a fourwheeler into it I’ll quarter it out and pack it. My days of dragging are over.

I want an electric winch that's portable and can be ratchet strapped to a tree. A couple small lithium 12 volt batteries and I think it could work. We drug one out of oakmulgee on a cart that took us 3 hours. It was miserable

We will burn that bridge when we get there

If I'm solo I'm hooking the drag strap to my climbing harness, If im with a partner we cuttin down a 10ft sweet gum and making an Indian meat pole. I keep the limb saw and paracord in the pack for such occasions. I hunt a lot of public and my own private, no ATVs or UTVs are in play.

But can any of you throw one in the floorboard on the passenger side of a Polaris Ranger?

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

It makes for a tough looking pic, but dang, it will work you to death.

That works pretty good. Especially useful in places where a cart will not work. Plus, the only think you need is a hand saw.

Yeah it aint easy, but (at the time) pictured friend and I were in really good shape.

Still in decent shape, but nothing like at the time this picture was taken

Me and buddy hauled a doe out like that one time. This was probably 10 years ago. Never again.

At least yall had enough sense to take the guts out and lighten the load. We didn’t. lol.

I use the gutless method to quarter them up and then I haul the meat and cape out in a jet sled. So far it’s the easiest way I have found to get one out from deep in the hills , by myself.
