If the tracking dog handler kills the deer the dogs are tracking? Who needs to log it in with game check? Someone shot it and someone else killed it?????
Seen this happen a few times and saw it go both ways.
If tracking at night who gets the ticket for night hunting? . Everybody involved or the dogs the dog handler. If only one gun one ticket evertbody else are spectators.
If the dog trespasses who goes after it? All who crosses the line are now trespassing? Let the handle kill the deer on trespassing land?. Green jeans was ask these at a breakfast table last week. All he would say is it up to the warden and his attitude and your attitude when caught.
He did say who ever killed it needs to log it in???? All this a Touchy subject!!!!

Hunter took possession when he shot the deer . Other I have no idea

There is case law out there that support the guy who shoot it's first it's his deer. Not just that simple but pretty much

Its just not really that big a deal, except for those who make a big deal out of it. The deer has been shot, you cant get that bullet back. I just dont understand why anyone would have a problem with a fella putting every possible effort into finding the deer he shot, night hunting, dog running, tresspaasing and gamecheck included. If it keeps a deer from getting wasted, i cant see how thats a bad thing. Nobody has forced anybody to call a dog. The problem is a humans inability to mind their own business.

Other states have already started passing regulations that resolve those issues……Louisiana was the latest to do so this past year making it fully legal for trackers to dispatch deer day or night…..Alabama will follow suit eventually…..Until then I guess each individual can just choose to handle how they want to…..

I am always amazed at some of the questions people ask on a public forum... Bham Fred had the perfect response.

Whoever shot it first gets the deer . Don’t matter if my buddie finishes it or me . If wasn’t shot in first place wouldn’t have track it a shoot it again .

Please. Yes. Just be quiet and be thankful ppl are willing to help. It keeps getting asked and there will be very clear regs shoved down everyone’s throat and they won’t be what ppl want.

People wearing badges would like to believe that's the way it should be. Judges see it a lot different if you can afford to use our courts.

It amazes me how stupid people can become with all the information at their finger tips. If the law or regulations don't say anything about it then by all means don't invite more laws and regulations by wanting somebody to clarify what you can't understand.

The laws forbidding taking possession of deer at night, taking possession of deer with a light at night and taking possession of deer with dogs out of season are already in place.

The arbitrary and discriminatory enforcement of those laws by game wardens is the problem together with a commissioner who abuses his power to set seasons for conservation purposes and uses that power to try to settle property rights disputes by banning dog hunting with special, private and local rules that our state constitution forbids.

1. Judges don't always see it like this. Many of them depend on Game Wardens to explain game laws to them.
2. Read what Fred said. Do you really want more regulations?

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

1 Many judges who don't see it like the Supreme Court sees it have their opinions overturned on appeal.

2 No. Neither do I want the rules to depend on an individual's opinion who's wearing a badge. Vague laws are unconstitutional for good reasons.

The laws in place that forbid taking deer at night, taking deer with a light and taking deer out of season with dogs are not vague. The enforcement is discriminatory.
