Question. Do y’all typically get a notification from Rayonier prior to them cutting timber on your properties?

I got word a minute ago that the timber company was unloading cutters in my area and one guy mentioned to my neighbor that they would be coming into my lease, but no specific details other than that they hoped all the stands and stuff were off. The place is in dire need of a thinning but a little heads up would have been nice. Especially with opening weekend coming up and family planning to visit.

Called them and left two voicemails, maybe they will call back but from previous experience I don’t expect it.

I seriously doubt it. Had few acquaintances who had their lease sell and weren't given a notice with them. Seems to happen with most of 'em unfortunately.

Weyerhaeuser has sent email notifications to us before. Not sure on Rayonier.

From my past experiences Rayonier gives no notice and really could care less if it is hunting season or not when they are ready to cut timber and make money. No doubt it sucks to pay for a Hunting lease and then have the land owner come in an cut timber when You paid them for the right to hunt property.

It seems like that’s the only time they cut timber is during hunting season. I was hunting on our lease last year during rifle season and the started unloading and cutting about 200 yards from me, no notice. Got down and started gathering up everyone’s stands and cameras

RMS sends emails. Got one last week about 150 acres that they say they plan to cut between now and the end of 2025.

Heck no and Rayonier trashes the roads and never fixed them. Our President put in multiple requests and they never did anything. Fortunately RMS bought our biggest tract and they have been the exact opposite of Rayonier. Wonderful to deal with.

Rayonier has sent us emails with maps lately when they were gonna cut a tract. This has gotten much better lately and the last 3 times they have cut on our place, they hired someone to go behind the loggers and fix all the roads. This was not always the case and they absolutely refuse to do any road work unless it’s after a logging operation. They can be hard to deal with.

The Foresrty company that takes care of the timber on our place will call me before they do anything on the property. They would call me to let me know when someone was just going to the place to inspect the timber. Also anytime we had issues with loggers leaving trash, oil cans, tires or grease buckets all over the place, they had them clean that mess up right away. Great people to work with.

We had Rayonier cut our lease in 2010 and they gave no notice. They did cut our lease price by about 30% and slowly raised it back over the next five years.

Rayonier rarely gives a heads up and a lot of times they don’t thin they clear cut. I wish you luck

We hunt rayonier and they have done a good job the last 5 years notifying us of when they are gonna cut. Usually get an email with a map marked up. They also have a motor grader come in and fix the roads when they are done. I’ll be sitting on a 2 week old rayonier clear cut in the morning at daylight as a matter of fact!
