There's a legitimate argument that Alabama has probable had the best overall team top to bottom since 2009. Lane Kiffin is quoted as saying that it was awesome coaching there because they knew that every time that they stepped on the field at least every player they had on the Bama team with maybe the exception of 1 was better than every player on the opposing team. So, I absolutely believe they had a top 4 team every year, but shouldn't winning your division or conference count for something? I dont remember what year it was but 1 year Penn St beat Ohio St head-to-head, won their division, played for and won their conference and Ohio st. jumped them in to the play-offs. We all know better teams than TCU were left out that year.
All, I'm saying is that some teams seem to get a benefit that others don't. Kiffin is catching heck right now because he said he don't want to play in SEC championship game. He knows 3 losses puts his team out. It has been talked about in this thread how Bama could still make it with a SEC championship game loss. No team whoever it is should be penalized for having to play an extra game in their Conference Championship while the other teams that did not get to play in Conference Championship sit at home and don’t have to risk losing a game. Hopefully common sense will be used in this situation. Then why would it matter if you played the extra game and won? Georgia missed the playoffs last year for losing the SEC championship to Bama. The committee placed Bama in over Fla st because of being SEC champions. Right?

They have been saying that in the 12 team playoff system that a conference championship loss will not be looked negatively by the committee, but I don't see how that can't affect their decisions depending on the conference and how the game went. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Can anyone remember when Nick Saban was saying that it would be just as controversial having a playoff when the BCS was picking and choosing ? He was right, even if I do like the playoff system better.

South Carolina could beat 3 or 4 of their top 12 teams .

Remember that play in the 3rd quarter of the first game where McCarron completed that long ball down to the 1 yard line and after the DB and the receiver (with possession) were both on the ground and the DB ripped the ball away from him? They awarded that turd an INT and completely turned that game around. Still chaps my behind to this day.
Wasn't McCarron. Marquise Maze threw that pass out of a wildcat formation. TE was wide open behind the defense, pass was just wildly underthrown. LSU db took the ball away from Williams on the ground. Bama dominated that game, just couldn't make a damn field goal. Missed 3 field goals on their first 3 possessions IIRC, and missed the fg in OT as well. LSU had under 200 yards of total offense.

They said today on f-bomb -if Bama gets to sec championship and loses - they still may go
I would not think Any 3 loss team would go and i think over half the sec teams with 3 losses would never go - but bama May still be in it even w a loss The committee said early on that they will not penalize a team for losing the conference championship game. Since it is an extra game that other teams don’t necessarily play in. I feel like if we have learned anything about Alabama since the beginning of the Saban era, it's that if there is anyway possible, the "committee" will put them in. At the end of the day money talks, Bama brings in the money. Fans travel and spend. A 10 loss Bama team would bring in way more money than an undefeated Boise st. Which year did the committee put a non deserving team, whether Bama or anyone else, in the playoffs? The year Bama had to play.lsu, is one!!!

The year Bama had to play.lsu, is one!!! Bama has never played LSU in the playoffs. You know what he meant I know what he posted, which was incorrect. There was no committee picking the BCS teams. BCS was chosen by the Coaches Poll, the Harris Poll, and 6 computer polls. Much more "scientific" than using a committee for the playoffs. Okie St losing to a bad 6-6 Iowa St team that late in the season was unforgivable. Truth be told, Arkansas may have been the third best team that season, with losses only to Bama and LSU.
