Have only hunted a few times between archery and now gun season with zero scouting. So far I’ve noticed a good acorn crop along Alabama river Army Corp land, very few in northern Bibb county and zero in area of Hollins WMA that was loaded last year. What is everyone else finding?

ZERO acorns in uplands. Loaded in bottomlands.

I haven’t seen any in the mtns and I’ve covered a lot of ground in the past few weeks. I’ve never seen white oaks leafs still green at Thanksgiving.

My usual spots in the Bankhead are completely devoid of acorns. Zero sign. Haven't even seen a deer in the last 12+ hours of hunting. I'm guessing they're all on corn. Frustrating.

My place in Baldwin is absolutely covered in acorns. I’ve never seen them so thick.

I have a few water oaks on the hill with acorns and a few trees in the bottom with them. Slim pickings but it’s all good.

I've hunted hill country and river bottom country. River bottom had a few but nothing substantial. Hill country haven't seen a single acorn and I've scouted thousands of trees.

Not many in bottom lands for me and just a few more in the hills. I noticed a lot of white oaks dropping in late September on a place in Pickens county.
Haven’t found or heard the first swamp chestnut drop.

With the warm temps and everything greening back up, food plots and Ag fields are where it’s at.

Found some white oaks today and they are dropping like crazy, but nothing is touching them. Would the drought affect the maturation process of the acorns? Usually the deer and hogs are all over them.

Acorns are few and far between in lower Greene County. Found a few does and fawns hitting what few swamp chestnut acorns there are.

Did find some swamp chestnuts in a bottom mixed with over cups. Burned about an acre and was amazed at how many acorns were under the leaves (mostly over cup) would post a pic but idk how.

No they don’t. When acorns are plentiful deer are inconsistent at best on corn.

I’ve seen deer walk over a corn pile to get to a white oak
