We have the same problem around here. Move some in the day in the woods. Seldom ever move in the fields during daylight. Bucks seldom move in daylight. Only thing that changes it is the rut. So, i hunt the rut. Only real chance you have around here to kill a good buck. Im sure its different in some places where theres alot less humans. Deer around here are just generally nocturnal. It is what it is. Just too many humans. The deer are getting squeezed out. Pressure is the problem almost 100% of the time

Wait, we can make them move after I finish brunch and before happy hour is over? Why have I been waking up at 3 am all this time?

Not knowing a lot about your place, I’d still say pressure is the number one factor to why you’re not seeing deer during the day. Could be other things too, but that’s always been the biggest factor for me and my place. I try to stay out of it unless I just have to go in to take care of something or make a pop in hunt.

When I hunt it, I keep as low as an impact as possible and do not encroach into the woods. Mainly hunt the roads. For instance I have four food plots and two of those four were sat recently for the first time in 4yrs. That’s just because of having my nephew and wife up for opening weekend. Other than putting nitrogen and topping their feeders off, I won’t see those plots again until after season is over.

Sounds excessive and boring but the place holds a LOT of deer and you see bucks every sit. Quality hunts over quantity is my preference.

Human pressure is the biggest suppressor on deer movement. Hunting stands with bad winds, hunting stands too much, checking cameras and dumping bags of corn every week, etc etc etc. Sometimes the best thing to do is...

Stay out of the woods.

I think you can go in the woods every day if you want. You just can't hunt them 4 months of the year.

Yours is probably the 5,836th thread on here about this. The first time I asked was number 3,246.
Cold weather and rut are the best bets.

Like your style BCLC 😀

Pressure is #1 - and never compromise wind - gimmicks are just that

I got 3 matures hitting one of my fields - just need right wind - but it may take weeks to get easterly wind - its called my buck/trough field

On my big field - the land allows me to back shooting house about 50 yards off the field. Why did i do that? So i
Could leave without ever getting detected. Whats that mean? If i hunt the wind and they never see me leave - its like i never hunted it - as low an impact as u can get = 0 pressure. And those type stands been $ for me for years. Thats why i make em that way when land allows. Hate saying buy to deer when i leave cause my stand is right on the field and get to hear the snort party 🤣😀

Good luck

Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self

If i remember right, that was one of the first things i asked about on here. Aldeer is experts at everything on earth but we cant get the deer to move during the day.

Limit pressure/presence

Approach stands and leave them without spooking deer.

Manipulate the habitat so you have bedding cover in close proximity to food.

If you do those three things you’ll have mature bucks in killable situations daily.
