It was two weeks on Monday. It isn't as painful as I thought it would be, but not easy by any means. Went to therapy today and the PhD therapist explained to me, what the doc did in there. It turned out that I had a large tear, in the rotator cuff, and had literally shredded the bicep. Most of that bicep was removed and very little left. He said I would never be able to lift above my shoulder with that. Put two anchors in for that. I've only taken a couple of pain pills, those things make me nauseous even when I eat something first. I can take some pain better than being nauseated, any day...lol I have gotten better at using my left arm/hand for everything...lol It is hurting me not being able to go fishing dang it. Definitely a slow road to heal but well worth it in the end...I hope. Before, when I would go fishing, I would have to throw a very low sidearm bait cast. It would wear out in an hour doing that... ugh. Who had this done and how long before you could get back on the water? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks.

That sounds a LOT like mine. I tore mine on the one of the last fires I fought before retiring and waited until I retired to have it operated on. It was tore up, but I didn't know the full extent.
Turns out when he got in to work on the shoulder joint, the bicep was barely hanging on. Not as bad as yours appeared to be. But he cut it loose, twisted the tendon, reattached it with screws. Took much longer than originally planned.
Recovery was the suckiest suck that ever sucked. Worst surgery recovery I've ever endured and by a long shot. I've had multiple back, Knee, sinus, foot and probably a few I can't remember. The shoulder took the longest to fully recover, nearly a year. The pain was horrible, maybe because I'm stubborn and try to push recovery. I don't know. But I won't have the other operated on for sure. I've got a very high tolerance for pain, but that shoulder must have had a freeway with a 100mph speed limit to the proper pain receptors in the brain. When I say it took me a year for full recovery, that's to be able to work, lift and extend ladders multiple times a day, do all the necessary movements to crawl around in attics and crawlspaces, etc without pain or loss of strength.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
