I only have one so far that I use for my scope. I’ve taken it out of the boat along with the black box, and screen when it gets cold like it has.. will this cold weather hurt the lithium batteries if left outside in the 32 degree and below weather?

I sure hope not; I'm not taking all of mine in and out like that. I've got 2 big ones in golf carts and 3 small ones in the boat, so that would be too big of a job. I had the boat batteries through last winter and I can't tell that it hurt them.

The only thing I have read about special care for them in cold weather is that they don't need to be charged while it's way below freezing. I've never had to do this anyway, but that might be a concern for some folks. I charge mine as soon as I get back from a trip and it's always above freezing then. If it wasn't, I wouldn't be fishing. smile

It sure can't hurt anything to do that. I don't think any sort of battery does as well in cold weather as warm weather. The range on my carts is noticeably less when cold, and that's with lithium or lead acid.

I have a 36v Epoch LiFePO4 battery that has a built in heater so it can operate in lower temps. If you leave it out in the cold consistently, the heater will draw on the battery. Not a problem for me since I store my boat in a garage, but you may want to check if yours has the heating mats.

I keep (kept) my boat in my basement since new in 2019. I had to put it under the barn this winter to make room for my kids stuff, they are building a new house. My 5 year old lead acid batteries will probably die now. I have one lithium for my front units I can pull easy enough & bring in.

I have two 100ah that power my TM. My boat stays outside underneath a metal carport. In winter, I'll wait to charge them the next day when temps get warmer.

I've got two 36 volt for my trolling and one 12 volt for my liveacope I'm not going to do anything special with them. Just not charge them when it's below freezing

Just curious why you have 2 36volt for the trolling motor? Are you running them in series?

I'm running them in parallel to double my run time
