I'm looking for a trail cam that will connect directly to a home wifi network - not a cell camera. I'd like to put it out by my FIL's place behind me where we are having deer come in at night and then have the camera send the pics to his phone through an app connected to the home wifi. I have a Blink camera out there now that does this, but the quality of nighttime pics and videos from the Blink camera are low.
I know there are plenty of wifi trail cameras, but they do not seem to connect to a home wifi - they are more for pulling up near them to download the pics without pulling a SD card out. I want one that will send real time alerts like a cell cam, but only over wifi instead that is connected to his house about 75ft away.

Maybe you need to look more into some sort of security camera?

That's what I have now with Blink, but the quality at night is poor. Trail cams seem to have much better nighttime quality pics/video with zero ambient light. I "may" have to try another brand security camera that is battery powered and wifi to see if it works better if there isn't a wifi trail cam available.

Look at Reolink but it will be videos. The quality is decent on my 1080p model, but they have 2k and 4k models now. I know they have battery/solar powered Wi-Fi options. You can download the videos from the app easily and snap a picture from a video as well if you just want to send a pic to someone. Maybe that helps.

I have been very pleased with the Wyze cameras, but the ones I have have to be plugged in. They were planning to introduce a battery unit, just not sure it's out yet.

I am not aware of any current product that's trailcam based that would do that. If you can get a wire to it, you could use a poe surveillance cam and would be better than most quality wise. Amcrest, hikvision or similar wifi cam would work fine. For a solar powered wifi - Reolink is the only one with full solar powered that are well regarded. https://reolink.com

If you have wifi then you can get a camera that will continually send live videos to a website that you can watch from anywhere. It will store the video for a few days so you can scroll back thru.

Probably want to get a camera that you can control as well. Rotate, zoom, etc.
