Make a header, nice piece of stained wood mounted to the studs. Then mount the deer heads to it. It can be one long one or multiples.
I’m not hanging anything heavy in sheet rock, no.

Sheetrock sucks for mounts.

Paint or stain a 1x6 and screw it to the studs. Make it run wall to wall, then attach your mounting brackets/screws to the 1x6

Add more 1x6 as needed, firmly mounted to the studs.

The site I use to post pictures is down but that's what I did for all of my euros and I've got 9 shoulder mounts but I was able to hit a stud on all of them and get good spacing.

I like the old wood. That’s a good idea

At least we agree on something. I had a bunch of that old cedar in the barn I had been saving for something and I finally got to use it. Nothing better than finally getting to use random junk you've saved

Look up zip-its. If you pull one of these out you have probably pulled the wall down and you don't need to make as big a hole as a toggle bolt needs

I’ve had 2 full turkeys in Sheetrock for 20 years. And some deer. Never had an issue.

The ones I used were Walldriller #8 from Home Depot. As said above, they are rated for 115#.

You could rethread from the other end, let as much of the bolt sticking out as needed then put washer and nuts to tighten up. Making it into a toggle bolt with an all thread

That's what I'm saying except the rethread from the other end part. If you turn the bolt around , you don't have the head of the bolt to hold the mount on. You cinch it up with the nut , leaving much of the bolt with the head sticking outside. Those things require a pretty big hole to install too, not a fan , but they will hold a load.

Hollow wall screw in anchors will work. I hung OSB before I hung the sheetrock in my trophy room. Hang anything anywhere.

Put another nut(lock nut) or put another nut with a fender washer on it before shoving it in the hole in the wall

I would mount a painted 2x6 horizontally on the wall, across several studs and mount to that.

Home Depot has some sheet rock screws that’ll hold 150 lbs and heavier. I used them.

It be's that way sometimes.
