Here's the restocking map…… http://www.aldeer.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=521982

I need to correct something I said earlier…..There actually were some releases that came from Pickens Co that should have had a December estrous date…..Its also possible that some of the Sumter Co deer they captured had a late Dec estrous……and those deer account for some of the Dec ruts we see along with the potential for some remaining native deer……There’s also the “Other Alabama Sources” where ever those came from…..

One thing to consider when looking at the different releases in the different areas is that we cant assume that all the does that were released survived and reproduced at the same rates…..Its almost a certainty that they probably didn’t…..So you have quite a few potential outcomes for every release area. The timing of the different releases would have mattered too if this one had a head start over that one……When its all said and done though its really shouldnt be too hard to look at the maps and take into account what everyone typically sees in your area and form at least a general idea about how things “shook out” after restocking……

Agree.....I just hunt when I can, as much as I can, being in the woods is more important to me than the exact rut time......I know if i hunt enough, I will kill bucks, just that simple.....

I agree but when I worked all time and you had limited time to hunt you should be in the woods when there was the most movement. I have also seen bucks killed at that time that nobody had ever even seen on camera . A lot of people just have limited acreage to hunt. When ever the rut is in your area will be that man's best time to be out there all day
