I’m set up in my back hardwoods right at the edge of a 100 acre 5-year old cutover that holds a pile of deer. Just me and Grandpappy’s ol’ Sweet 16. I’ve killed several deer in this spot, but not recently. My last deer was 17 years ago when my hunting luck went from below average to really bad. But I’m nothing if not persistent. Maybe today’s the day. smile

Regardless it’s a beautiful day to be outside!

Vernun, I hope you brought a couple #6's with you in case you see some squirrels

Good point. The state of Alabama doesn’t have to worry about me depleting the deer population. They’re apparently quite safe around me.

I want to be a good steward, so I won’t shoot a young buck nor will I shoot a small, young doe. I would only consider a mature deer.

It's true I'm mostly carrying on and goofing off. What I lack in hunting skills I try to make up for in internet nonsense.

This particular A5 has had about a million rounds shot through it, yet it keeps on going. I keep it clean and maintained. It's a 1964 vintage.
